Hello, and welcome to the e-campus of Ma-se-no University.
The online team cordially welcome you to Orientation to e-learning course.
We have prepared this Orientation to eLearning course to help equip you with the necessary skills to engage in online learning. Key among the skills you will learn are:
- How to technically navigate the learning management site or portal
- How to present yourself online using an online profile
- How to Move within and between topics
- How to add yourself into a course group
- How to Upload files including assignments
- How to Participate in forum discussions
- How to participate in the virtual classes using the Big Blue Button
- How to Create blogs
- How to undertake online exams
You will also be introduced to some new eLearning terminologies like: Moodle, Blocks, Assignments, Choices, Netiquettes, Tabs and Blogs.
Here are a few tips on what makes a successful e-learner
They are many but…. motivation and focus, a positive attitude, good communication skills, ability and collaborator, an ability to read and follow instructions and a competent user of ICT.
I would like to emphasize that All orientation tasks are important
They include opening links. The links may open pages for you to read, audio recordings for you to listen through or videos for you to watch.
There will be quizzes for you to answer, and assignments to upload.
For all tasks given, ensure to take down notes . They will help you when discussing in forums, answering assignments or when doing quizzes.
The structure of the course:
The course is structured in 6 topics from zero to 5. Study through sequentially and attempt all activities given.
Remember to know your group and your group facilitator. The facilitator will support you and give you feedback on your tasks. Engage fellow learners and the facilitator in this learning process and ensure you exit the course only after attaining a pass mark of over 85%.
